How Much Did Your Flat Iron Cost?

I’ve had the same tired old flat iron since I started high school - and I’m halfway through college now! I really want to invest in a new iron, but I’m a starving student, so I’m on a strict budget. How much does a good quality flat iron normally cost? I wouldn’t want to spend more than 40 or 50 dollars, if possible. I really have my heart set on a Chi flat iron, because I hear they’re great and really easy to use, but I don’t want to break the bank. Are they expensive? A friend of mine said they’re actually affordable, but since she comes from a really wealthy family I’m not sure our definitions of “affordable” are necessarily the same! However, I’ve been doing a little research online and I do think I can get a Chi flat iron without going over my budget. I can’t wait! My old flat iron is going straight in the trash. It was always burning my hair, and it barely even straightened! Once I get my hands on it, my new Chi flat iron is never going to leave my side.
